Line Cook
Job Title: Line Cook
Location: Tea, SD
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt/Exempt
SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Line Cook to join our team. As a Line Cook Manager,
you will work closely with the Kitchen Manager and the Assistant Kitchen Manager to ensure the
smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in all
kitchen activities, including food preparation, cooking, supervision of Dishwashers and Prep Cooks,
and ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Collaborate with the Kitchen Manager and Assistant Kitchen Manager to create and maintain an
efficient kitchen operation.
• Assist in supervising kitchen staff, including training and monitoring performance.
• Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure quality and consistency.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to sanitation and safety
regulations.
• Monitor inventory levels of food and supplies, and coordinate with managers for timely ordering.
• Ensure proper food storage, labeling, and rotation to minimize waste and maintain freshness.
• Collaborate with the wait staff to ensure efficient communication and timely service to customers.
• Assist in conducting regular kitchen inspections to identify areas for improvement.
• Promote and maintain the highest possible customer experience.
• May be called upon to perform comparable duties of a similar or related nature and/or assist in
other areas as needed.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• Previous experience in a high-volume kitchen environment.
• Proven leadership skills and the ability to motivate a team.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.

Strong service skills. Demonstrated leadership abilities. Capability to coach, mentor, and empower
team members to succeed. High level of patience and service. Ability to motivate team members.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:
Physical Requirements: Required to stand, walk, bend, lift and reach for duration of shift.

BENEFITS TO YOU:
One week paid vacation. Employer paid AFLAC policy for the employee. This is a salaried position
with a range of $15-$20/hour, depending on experience. Bonuses based on performance.

SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Kitchen Manager to join our team. As
the Kitchen Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our
kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and efficiency. You will
lead the kitchen staff, manage inventory, maintain kitchen equipment, and collaborate
with the restaurant management to deliver an exceptional dining experience to our
guests.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and
planning, to ensure consistent quality and adherence to established recipes and
standards.
• Manage and train a team of kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, prep cooks, and
dishwashers, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
• Create and update menus in collaboration with restaurant management, taking into
account seasonal availability, cost-effectiveness, and customer preferences.
• Maintain accurate inventory records, monitor stock levels, and place orders for food,
beverages, and kitchen supplies to ensure smooth operations and prevent shortages.
• Enforce strict hygiene and food safety standards in compliance with state health
regulations and company policies, ensuring a clean and sanitary working environment.
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment, identify maintenance needs, and
coordinate repairs or replacements as necessary to minimize downtime.
• Monitor kitchen operations to optimize efficiency, streamline processes, and reduce
waste, implementing strategies to improve productivity and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate with wait staff to ensure effective communication, timely food delivery,
and excellent customer service.
• Train kitchen staff on proper food handling techniques, cooking methods, and safety
procedures.
• Assist with food preparation during peak hours or in the absence of adequate
staffing, demonstrating expertise and setting a high standard for the team.
• Coordinate and communicate matters of mutual concern with internal and external
teams.
• Assure staffing requirements are met.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• Proven experience as a Kitchen Manager or similar role within restaurant industry
preferred.
• In-depth understanding of food safety regulations and best practices.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks at once.
